Aaron Allen - Chapter 5 Class Book

This chapter gave me a better understanding of the environment in a technical science way. By saying this, I mean the chapter took less of an approach at the idea of nature and perspectives and looked at the factual side of things. The part that I enjoyed reading the most was the comparison of weather and the oceans to the pot on a stove. While I understand that weather and oceans are on an extremely large scale and way more in depth, this helped me visualize what actually happens in the parts of the ocean that are far from the coasts. The part of the chapter I found most interesting was about the water on earth. I knew that oceans made up 97% of the water on earth, but I did not realize how little the water in the atmosphere made up. After reading this astonishing number, I thought about it more and realize how little water our atmosphere actually holds given this fact. Ultimately, I enjoyed this chapter as it gave an interesting analogy and facts that made me think about in depth.
