Aaron Allen - Chapter 9 Class Book

This chapter of our book was an important topic to me. I have always been fascinated with animals and plants around the world. Biodiversity is probably my favorite topic when it comes to looking at the environment. I like learning about biodiversity because it shows how the world is different depending on where you are. This can be as simple as what kinds of species you will find, or can be in depth such as how ecosystems interact. I mostly enjoyed the discussion as to why biodiversity matters because I have a strong opinion that supports this idea. The part of this chapter that I did not like reading about was the sixth great extinction. This discussion shows me that the world is not in a good place as we are failing to help keep the ecosystems safe. I feel as though we have a responsibility of maintaining the earth as we are not the only inhabitants that live here. Ultimately, this chapter was nice to read because I enjoy the topic of biodiversity.
