Aaron Allen - Glen Canyon (outside reading 4)

This article was very sad to me. Reading the article made me realize how much people rely on the environment and nature for their daily lives. The threat of Lake Powell becoming non-existent or losing its capacity, is harmful to many aspects of society. If the lake loses capacity and cannot help power the dam, animals and people will suffer dramatically. It is scary to think that the second largest reservoir may go out of commission. Additionally, the consistent loss of water in the reservoir could have been explored earlier to better prepare for the current situation. If the situation was addressed before the issue became as large as it is, the whole issue may not have reached this point. I connect with this article because I feel as though the government played a major role in the whole situation. This goes to show that the government should value and handle nature and the environment with more care so we can protect this earth.
