Chapter 7: Climate Change

After reading chapter 7 of the textbook that takes a deep dive into the worlds climate change that has been occurring since the industrial revolution I was able to relate quite well with the topic after studying environmental studies here at university. I have a deep appreciation for taking Johnny Finn's Geography class that went into specifics about the local Newport News climate change and how the redlined communities are being affected the most harshly from natural climate catastrophes. The amount of Co2 being produced in Newport News is mostly caused by the local interstate highways that are over productive and release gases into the atmosphere that essentially contributes to the local urban heat islands that surround the region of Downtown Newport News. On a positive note Newport News is doing a better job at taking large steps into combating the control of local climate action by having grassroots organizations step up to raise awareness to the local government in order to supply the city with more green spaces and better technology to combat this climate crisis in the area.
