Ieasa Custer- Creating Greenery in my Spaces (free response) 14

All of my life I have loved nature and plants. I have been fortunate to be surrounded by beautiful landscapes and be able to experience them first hand. During my time at CNU I have done a plethora of research on how nature affects one's well being and how we should surround ourselves with elements of the environment. This was a strong topic in my senior thesis paper as I evaluated why people hike long distances. I also looked into the effects of greenery during my Junior year as a researcher at CNU and I furthered this research during our lectures on ecotherapy and forest bathing. I found even more data on the profound effects on how greeny helped one's mentality as I did research for my communications class. Overall, I gathered plenty of knowledge and understanding of this topic and  I would like to address how I personally implement this into my life. In my room I have plenty of plants. 2 on my dresser, 3 on my window sill, 1 on a shelf and a fresh vase of flowers every week. In addition I have vines all over my dorm. I have noticed that as I collect more plants to have around my room I do feel better, clearer and more productive. I have loved seeing how this research and knowledge impacts my life.
