Ieasa Custer - Sustainability vs Responsibility vs Love. 4 (free response)

One of our very first lectures acknowledged the best vocabulary to use when addressing how we should treat our planet. I feel as though this topic spread nicely through all of our classes and how to view what we were learning. First, we discussed sustainability. This is a word that I often used as a way to describe how to take care of the earth and thought it fit the situation well, however it does not. We should not be sustaining how the earth is now, we must better it not just keep it the same. Thus we turn to responsibility. We are responsible for fending for the earth in ways it can not. We must think of our actions and how they affect the environment. However, the word responsible makes this duty seem mandatory and like a task. This should not be a task, rather something we want to do and look forward to using our agency for. Thus the final word we used was Love. We must treat this earth with love and protect it in all ways we can.
